High Adventure for Scouts 14 years and older
Troop 4 won the lottery again and is headed to Philmont in 2024. A Philmont trek is guaranteed to be one that a Scout will never forget. After touring in Colorado Springs for two days, our 12 day treks are Scout selected itineraries that range from 50-70 miles and include afternoon activities such as horseback riding, rock climbing, rappelling, challenge events, pole climbing, muzzle loading/shooting, 12-gauge trap shooting, .30-06 shooting, trail building, mountain biking and many more.

Trip Dates: 7/26-8/9 2024
- 7/26 - Fly out to Denver early am
- 7/26 pm & 7/27 - Tour Colorado Springs (Pikes Peak, WW Rafting, Garden of Gods)
- 7/28 - Travel to Philmont - arrive lunchtime
- 7/29 - On the trail
- 8/8 - Off the trail - celebration dinner at St. James Hotel
- 8/9 - Leave Philmont, early drive back to Denver and flight home
Shakedown and prep hikes are mandatory for all who are going on this trip.
Trip Details
We have on crew going and one available slot for another Scout or Adult.
Scouts must be 14+ years old on July 28, 2024 or be 13 and have completed 8th grade
Philmont is 140,000 acres that serves 3500 hikers on any given day with 350 new scouts coming and going daily
At 12,441 ft, Mt. Baldy is the tallest point
Itineraries vary in distance and activities based upon Scout’s choice
1 weekend overnight shakedown before we leave
Medical and Consent forms - Very important!!
All participants must ensure the following:
Medical Forms: In the spring of 2024, three paper copies of Part A, B and C (Part C must be filled out by a physician) and a copy of your insurance card must be delivered to Mrs. Harvey
