Family “Night” Snowshoeing

February 26, 2021

(Rain date Feb 27. If no snow we’ll reschedule later in Feb/March)

NOTE:
Snowshoes are not mandatory  as rentals are closed due to COVID-19.
We have enough participants with snowshoes who can lead and break the path for the rest of the crew.
Sturdy pair of snow or hiking boots should suffice.

Friday Feb 26, 2021

6:00 PM at Legacy Farms

Come join us for a Night Snowshoe via Legacy Farm, Elmwood and Abbott Farm Conservation Land in Hopkinton.

All Scouts, Family and Friends are welcome.

It will be a leisurely 2.5-3mile Snowshoe through the woods in the dark and we will finish with Marshmallows and Hot drinks around a fire.

Bring your Facemask, Snowshoes, Walking Poles (if you have them), Day Pack (snack/water) and most importantly a Headlamp. Its Winter and Snowshoeing can be hard work, so layer up for the cold, but be prepared to take layers off if you get hot. Wear sturdy well fitted boots that are waterproof and insulated if we have deep snow. Scouts wishing to lead the Troop, should wear Gators or Snow pants if breaking trail in deep snow conditions. (we can be so lucky)

Bring your own Mug and Spoon for Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows, ingredients and hot water will be provided at the end of the night.

We will be Starting at 6:00pm at Legacy Farms (eat dinner before arriving). The Trailhead is across from Warmstone Way, situated on Legacy Farm Rd, near the pedestrian crossing.

Finishing 8:30pm at 2 Harrington Way, Hopkinton, there is limited parking, but pull into the driveway of house on the right.
